Filling My Cup with Holiday Movies, Traditions, Finding Time to Unplug, and Checking in on Friends
Hello friends!!! It has been quite the week over here with some incredible work opportunities and regularly scheduled family programming plus all of the holiday madness. Instead of working myself up over it all I am simply just trying to lean in and go with the flow as much as I humanly can. I have a weekend full of celebrations (2 birthday parties and my parent’s infamous Christmas caroling party) and then a week of NYC-packed work before taking off time for the holidays so I am really in *grind* mode working my butt off for that vacation. That being said - both Filling my Cup and Mom’s Musings will be taking a holiday hiatus from 12/25 - 1/6! I make a conscious effort to block off this week every year to focus on spending time with my family and I appreciate you understanding this priority! Speaking of the holidays, reminder that I have MANY gift guides for you if you are last minute shopping for anyone on your list! They are all available to shop HERE! Now, let’s get into this past week…

A Deep Dive Into the Back End of My Business
EP 274: In this solo episode, I dive into all the back-end details of my business, from how I first developed a business plan in content creation to how various elements of my business work today. I share what the early days of Freckled Foodie looked like, what inspired me to quit my corporate job and pursue health and food content creation full-time, a…
What I’m Watching -
Our Little Secret - As a Lindsay Lohan fan (and child doppleganger), I am so obsessed with her comeback. I’m not typically a *cheesy christmas movie person*, but my friends were talking about this movie so I threw it on one morning at 5:30AM while I cross stitched and drank my coffee. Honestly, it was an amazing way to start my day. Is it groundbreaking or amazing cinema? No. Is it kind of funny and passes the time and is nostalgic of sorts because of Lindsay? Yes. Recommend if you’re looking for some time to kill!
What I’m Listening To -
Lisa Kudrow on Armchair Expert - as a lifelong Friends fanatic, I loved hearing the ins and outs of Lisa’s (aka Phoebe’s) experience and found it fascinating that she never really watched the show until recently after Matthew Perry died. For me friends = childhood so hearing her speak for such an extended period of time felt like a warm hug
What I’m Reading -
Echoes of You - The second of the Lost and Found series that I talked about last week. Again, I still am confused how so much crime can hit one small town (Cedar Ridge), but putting that aside I am really into this series. I love reading series that dive into different love story tangents of a larger group (this time a family of 5) where the same players are intertwined between them all. Yes, they can be read as standalone stories, but I love following these from start to finish. This is a “will they wont they” romance story of two best friends who have always been more and their journey on realizing that. TW that it talks about domestic physical and emotional abuse.
“My career is flourishing, yet I feel like I'm "failing" as a mom”- My recent Mom’s Musings is getting a lot of love in my DMs from people who feel similarly in the never-ending chase for “having it all” in terms of motherhood and work so if you’re looking to learn more about my thoughts on this topic, this one is for you
My career is flourishing, yet I feel like I'm "failing" as a mom
·I’m having a bit of a preemptive vulnerability hangover writing this because I fear I’ll question laying all these emotions out there, but I also feel very safe in my community (especially here on Substack), so when I sat down to write this Mom’s Musings
What I’m Wearing -
Striped T-shirt - I randomly have been wearing this a lot recently when I’ve been filming content and getting tons of questions on it, so even though I’ve had it for a year plus now I want to highlight it in this week’s email. I love the oversized fit and it is so damn comfy. I toss on with a pair of jeans or sweatpants depending on the look I’m going for
Mejuri ring - This was my one Black Friday gift to myself and I absolutely love it. I had a similar one when I was younger that I wore everyday but somehow lost along the way so this one has a twinge of nostalgia built in for me
Ugg Plushy Slippers - I included these in my gift guide, but I cannot get enough of these slippers. I am in them 24/7
Weezie Towel Plush Robe - Weezie sent us matching robes (for me and the boys) and I am obsessed with them and their ability to monogram. It is so soft and the perfect post shower wear while I have my LED light mask on and scroll on my phone before actually putting on pajamas
What I’m Eating -
This is such a random thing to include in a newsletter, but rotisserie chickens (specifically the organic ones from Whole Foods) have become such a staple for our household. The boys love it shredded with their lunches/dinners and then on the final day I shred up the remaining pieces and throw them in quesadillas for the fam and it is a massive crowd pleaser
What My Family is Loving -
We were sent some Christmas Toy Story apparel by FF Fam member @cityscapeapparel and they are so cute. Our baby obviously doesn’t understand, but our toddler is so pumped about this mix of two of his favorite things. She gave us a code for 20% off 2+ items! CAMERON20. Shop here!

How I’m Filling My Cup -
Checking in on friends. Lately my work has taken priority over many things in my life and one thing about me is that I really value my friendships and take great pride in the friend that I am. This past week I’ve prioritized checking back in on friends who I know are going through different things (newborn madness / family struggles / intense work logistics / new boyfriends / etc) and seeing how they’re doing. It fills my cup to connect with the amazing people in my life.
Different future
Thank you for all the gift guides and the work you put into it!!! Excited for you and all your business adventures!! Enjoy and celebrate all the wins!! Have an amazing weekend with your sweet family!🤍🤍
