Obviously I can’t share details, but as a therapist who works with moms, I hear a LOT of perceived shame from colleagues/coworkers/friends/family members about work life balance once babies are out of the fourth trimester. It’s almost like a permission slip to focus on more than 1 thing at once gets ripped up once the novelty of a newborn wears off.

It seems like the biggest difference between my clients who are struggling with shame about work/life balance is whether or not their partner is supportive. Could totally discuss more here or on an IG post comment section!

I think our partners’ voices can manifest as our internal monologue. So if we are fighting the negative voices that tell us we should be doing more & our partner is not reinforcing that, it’s harder to fight. Vs if we have our partners championing us, it makes it easier to fight the anxiety about being a good parent and being good at our jobs.
