Filling My Cup with Morning Family Time Affirmations, Unhinged Parenting Hacks, and Off To Disney World
Happy Friday! As I write this I am giddy as hell because we are headed to Florida and, more importantly, DISNEY!!!!!!! All of my friends have been texting me that it is “very off brand” for me to go to Disney and I’m almost insulted because of the sheer glee I feel around this trip?? Don’t get me wrong, the packing aspect of everything obviously has sent me into a ~tizzy~, but I cannot wait to be there and experience the most magical place on the earth (what has happened to me??) through my boys’ eyes. I promise I will share any and all details once the trip is over and I have legitimate suggestions/tips/tricks to provide!! Stay tuned…

In this solo episode, I dive deep into the struggles of burnout, setting boundaries, and finding balance in a fast-paced world. I explore the impact of hormonal cycles on mental health, the importance of sl…
What I’m Listening To -
The Daily - I shared about how I feel stupid lately and am on a mission to fix that, so something I am trying to do more of is consuming educational content. I used to listen to The Daily every morning on my commute and I miss feeling up-to-date on the news and knowledgeable, so I am trying to add it back into my routine.
What I’m Watching -
Babygirl - I hated this movie. There, I said it. What the actual f was that!? I was excited because from what people told me it was giving the vibes of my romance novels and it was nothing in comparison to what I read. I felt like there were so many loose ends that were never closed. The cult storyline and flashbacks??? Like how did that never get addressed?? I found myself wondering what his background was that led to his interest in this. Her kids kept throwing me for a loop because they looked 20 and then sometimes acted 7 - like why were they in costume during that photoshoot?? And what was up with the fighting / punching aspects of some of the scenes? And how do they not tell us how Esme finds out? And also while we’re on it, what was up with that coworker in the final scene? How did he know and did they have some past? Aside from me overall not vibing with the characters or storyline or what they were into or the dog part of it all, how did so many parts of the plot go unfinished!?
Unhinged parenting hacks - The comments of this TikTok video are sending me with these unhinged parenting hacks. Between telling your kid that their ears turn red everytime they lie so now they cover their ears whenever they’re not telling the truth or changing the language of a movie to say “you can’t understand anymore because you’re so tired and its time for bed” - these people are giving me tons of ideas and lots of laughs
What I’m Wearing -
Red Jeans - I wore my red jeans for this week’s QYM 2nd edition photoshoot and my DMs went absolutely wild, so here is the link for anyone else who loves them! Everyone is saying I need to wear more red so I guess I will?
Jean Jacket - I don’t own this jacket and it’s definitely on the pricier side, but my stylist brought it for the shoot we did and I absolutely fell in love. It is perfect. I wish I could be in denim on denim every single day.
Week’s Round of 365 Days of Dressing for Me
What I’m Loving -
Brown Mascara - My girlfriend introduced me to this mascara last year and I have been it’s number one fan ever since. She wore the black version but ever since getting my color analysis done and learning black isn’t one of my colors, I bought the brown mascara and have noticed the biggest difference. I bring it with me everywhere, even when I am getting my makeup done by someone else. Truly, it is the best mascara ever and all of my friends agree!! #NordstromPartner
Lip liner / stick / gloss combo - After getting my makeup done this week for the shoot I got a ton of DMs about how great the lip combo was and I’m happy to share she used the products I have and wear whenever I do my own makeup! I swear by this combo! The links will take you directly to the shade of each product that I use.
Being an Aunt - I’ve been an aunt for 3+ years now, but when my older sister had her first I had a 5 month old and was still living in the city and I feel like I wasn’t able to be there for her as much as I would’ve liked because I was deep in my postpartum depression. That being said, she just had her second (my first niece!!!) and it has been so enjoyable to experience the newborn phase as an aunt and not the one in postpartum.
What I’m Writing About/Journaling -
How I’m checking things off my vision board but still struggling with a slew of things around my mental health and business -
What My Family is Loving -
“Poop Peek-A-Boo” - As I’ve said 100X before, parenting is all in the marketing. My younger son currently despises getting his diaper changed - it is like wrestling with a screaming alligator and sometimes requires two people to clean a poop. Lately I’ve been using a burp cloth to play peekaboo and it has suddenly made diaper changes manageable?? I yell “ok it’s time for poopy peek-a-boo!!!” and immediately throw it on his face when I lie him down and then he pulls it off and we giggle and I do it again and as many times as it takes to change him
Sonic Bedtime Story - My oldest son was introduced to Sonic this week by a friend at school and has been demanding “sonic stories” every time we get in the car. This was one that Joe found and is actually pretty cute (encourages deep breathing and being calm etc)
Striped Polo - This is like the second collared thing I’ve ever bought for my kids, but I love the look of this polo for when they need something a little nicer than sweatpants and t-shirts this spring. Plus, J. Crew factory right now has 40-70% off everything PLUS extra 50% off clearance online with code SUNSHINE! #JCrewPartner
Morning Affirmations - I was filming a morning vlog and caught this moment of my oldest son leading me in morning affirmations and it will forever be one of my favorite videos. Tbh I could use this pump up every morning - I think we all could!
How I’m Filling My Cup -
Meditating - I am trying to reintroduce my meditation practice on a daily basis and it has been hard to get back into being okay in the stillness but it is so necessary for me. I’ve been doing 5-10 minutes a day and even that I find helps me be calmer / more mindful in the mornings.
FL girly here! Just took our 2 boys (1.5ish &3) for the first time a couple months ago and we had a blast! Stayed at Saratoga springs
We took our twins to Disney in January (age 3.5) and it was magical for them and us! We’re already planning to go next year and I can’t wait. I never expected to bring them this young but it’s so worth it. Hope you the best time!
