Happy MDW!!!! Summer is officially HERE baby!!! I feel like my entire personality is defrosting (even though the weather is shit). I am so excited to get down to the shore and cannot wait to be in my happy place. So much so that I haven’t even second thought about the fact that I’ll be driving both boys and our dog down to the beach solo lol. I feel like May has been absolutely insane and am convinced it may rival with the business of the holidays. I don’t know if it is the combination of mental health awareness (for my work), Mother’s Day, end of school stuff, work packing in before summertime, etc, but it has been absolute mayhem. I am excited for a long weekend at the beach and to hopefully take some time off to relax a bit. That being said, there will be no Mom’s Musings this week! I am taking the holiday weekend to give myself a break and hopefully actually shut off work for a bit. Thank you for understanding! Let’s get into what I’ve been loving this week…
Conversations with Cam -
Understanding DBT and Tools for Emotional Regulation with Therapist, Ethan Sapienza
In this episode, I sit down with therapist Ethan Sapienza to explore the world of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other therapeutic approaches. We dive into the origins of DBT, its core modules, and how these practices can benefit everyone - not just those with clinical diagnoses. Ethan breaks down complex therapy concepts into digestible insight…
What I’m Watching -
Nonnas - Ok this is more of what I’m not watching because this movie was soooo boring and meh to me (and many of you in my DMs). Lucy and Tyler were over and so the four of us went down to megabed (our huge basement couch) after the kids went to bed and were so excited to watch this new Vince Vaughn movie and it just simply… stunk? I don’t know if ti was meant to be a comedy, but there was not one laugh from any of us. We eventually gave up after 45ish minutes. Some people in my DMs said they cried at the end, but I personally wasn’t interested in continuing it
What I’m Listening To -
Hot Pilates Playlist - The pilates instructor that came to our house in the DR for Lucy’s bach had the best playlist during our class so I of course asked for it and have been listening to it ever since
What I’m Reading -
All Fours by Miranda July - I guess this is another what I’m not reading, because I DNF’d this book. I have heard so much hype over this book and was incredibly uninterested in it. I think the writing was really well done, but I felt so disconnected to the main character and the storyline. I know many people felt differently and I can understand the desire to “runaway” for a bit and decide to just stay in a hotel versus go on a road trip, but the rest of it was way over my head in terms of relating.
What I’m Shopping/Wearing -
Best of MDW Sales - Who knew that MDW is the new Black Friday and that everything is on sale?? We put together some of our favorite picks on sale right now
!
J.Crew Loafers - I am loving these loafers. I got the brown patent and wore them this past week for a city day and thought they were so chic. Plus, I wore them all day in the city for the first time ever (bold move) and didn’t get one blister. I wore them with these ruffle socks and thought it looked so cute together
.
Strapless Navy Bathing Suit - I have this suit in brown and loved it so much (as did you based on my DMs) so when I saw the navy, I knew I needed it. Plus, 25% off right now! (Also shit I just saw they have a brown gingham and I fear I need it)
Saks Designer Sale - The Saks designer sale is happening right now (up to 50% off!!) and you better believe I’m shopping it!! I am a huge fan of Staud, so I’m looking at everything they have by them HERE and also Zimmerman because I love so many of their pieces but typically can’t justify the price and also Khaite if you really want to ball ou
Lands End Tote - I am absolutely obsessed with this bag. There is a lot of discourse on the internet around Lands End vs LL Bean and as someone who has both, I can safely say I’m team Lands End. I have the medium tote with the zip top and “Rogers” monogrammed on it (because I always prefer last name vs kids names so that everyone can use) and I use it daily. I’ve gotten so many messages that people gift these as postpartum gifts with the kid’s name filled with things for the mom and I love that idea!
American Eagle Set - I have been living in this set!! It is so comfy and feels very put together. Runs a bit large!
Abercrombie Strapless Linen Skort - I love their linen skort dresses and this print is so beautiful #AbercrombiePartner
What I’m Loving -
Stok Decaf Cold-Brew - I honestly cannot get enough. As someone who loves a cold brew as an afternoon pick-me-up but can’t handle all the caffeine, this is a dream come true.
Quiet Your Mind x Stakt Mat Towel - This collaboration is a dream come true!! We partnered with Stakt to make a towel for their mat & mat pro that has one of the QYM colored affirmations on it and I just love it so much!!
What I’m Writing About/Journaling -
What My Family/My Boys are Loving -
Smart Wheels Soft-Baked Bar: Safe to say my boys are BIG snackers and I’ve learned over the years that not all kid food brands are created equal. Thankfully, we have Once Upon a Farm and love all of the products they make. We are especially huge fans of their new Smart Wheels! They are made with real fruit & veggies and 100% whole grain oats and zinc to help support brain health and my boys are obsessed with them #OFarmPartner. Use code CAMERON10 for 10% off here
Balloons - We had a ton of left over just standard balloons from our son’s 4th birthday party and safe to say our 19 month old is absolutely obsessed. He runs around the house kicking the balloon in the air and chasing it for a straight hour and it is an amazing form of entertainment for him and break for us
How I’m Filling My Cup -
Heading down to the shore!!! I am filled with so much joy and excitement on that drive down to the shore, especially the first of the season, and feel like the best of times are ahead of us. I cannot wait for the summer of fun and to see our younger son enjoy the beach now that he is a bit older (last year was still very “baby” IMO).
Have an amazing weekend with your sweet family! Happy summer! May is definitely a wild month…for us it was baseball, end of school testing, field day, theme days, band concerts, and just regular life! My son’s last day of school was Wednesday so we are ready to start summer with a less structured schedule and enjoy the season!❤️
