Filling My Cup with The Soto Method, New Spices, and Comfortable Fall Fits
I'm leaning into the fall season, dressing to impress (and by that I just mean being comfortable and confident in my clothes), and prioritizing easy dates with friends.
Anyone else feel like the foot (of life??) is full throttle on the gas?? Does that sentence even make sense? Honestly, I’m not sure, but it sums up how I’m feeling. Things are moving fast and furious this month. I know Fall is a busy time for a lot of us and the approaching holiday season is always a bit chaotic, so if this is what’s in store for the rest of Q4 I’m preparing. Here’s what’s been happening this week, what I’ve been loving, and how I’m filling my cup!
Conversations with Cam
The Live Show is right around the corner and I am SO excited to see so many of you!! If you’re local to NYC and free on October 9th, come join us for an amazing evening with the incredibly inspiring Emily Didonato and Lia Bartha!
What I’m Watching and Reading
Pregnancy Brain - FINALLY science is validating the pregnant experience. I saw this TikTok about a new study and felt so freaking seen. Pregnancy did some serious damage to my brain and made me feel legitimately crazy. Seeing research prove there are legitimate changes happening inside a pregnant woman’s brain is the validation I needed. This article that summarizes the research findings states…
Based on 26 scans of one healthy 38-year-old woman's brain, scientists found "remarkable things" including changes to regions linked to socializing and emotional processing - some of which were still obvious two years after giving birth.
…. NO SHIT! I’m happy to finally have some affirmation and I’m blown away (or maybe not surprised) that we are just now looking into this?!
Hope Solo Untold - Although Hope Solo feels like a household name, I hadn’t heard or thought of her for a long time. I was excited when I saw a new Untold documentary about her story. Personally, I found many of the things that happened to her unjust. Although it felt a bit one-sided and overlooked a few of her mistakes (both small and large) I really enjoyed it and would recommend!
- - In an effort to consume more Substack content, I love this newsletter. For anyone looking for news, motherhood content, or “two things can be true at once” things, I highly recommend this!
The Seven Year Slip - My only DNF of the month. I was recommended this book and it just didn’t do it for me. I think I made it about 15% of the way through before I decided to put it down for good. I couldn’t get past the time warp “magical apartment”.
What I’m Wondering
I asked this question to my group text and now I want to know everyone’s answer… If you had unlimited funds and the ability to outsource or hire for some aspect of your life, what would it be (and don’t be afraid to be specific)?! For me, I think the ultimate luxury would be a private chef. Never having to worry about grocery shopping or cooking or the dreaded “what’s for dinner?” ever again?! A DREAM!
What I’m Loving
The Soto Method - I am a new fan of The Soto Method and quickly became obsessed. The Soto Method founder, Hillary, was on this week’s podcast episode and she created the best 10-20 min workouts. I love that you know what you’re doing during the class and she sets (and meets) your expectations!! If you sign up for The Soto Method monthly option, you get a free month with code CAMERONR!
Working Outside of The House - I’ve made more of a conscious effort to get out of the house to work and my god has it made a difference. I am so easily distracted by other household tasks, playing with my baby, the dog barking, or anything in my home office… so I’ve decided to get dressed, drop our toddler at school, and work out of a local coffee shop instead. It has been incredible. It’s wild how much more efficient I am when I do this!
The Support on this Post - The FF Fam continues to blow me away. I recently posted about struggling with ADHD and how I’m considering medication. The comments on this video have been so helpful. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Harmony Blends - My good friend
launched her new spice blend that she’s worked on for the past year and the final result is AMAZING!! The perfect addition to your kitchen (or gift to give someone during the holiday season).
What I’m Wearing
Fall Closet - I am really into my outfits lately because I’m focusing on my 3 criteria: being comfortable, feeling like myself, and having the ability to play with my boys. I wrote all about this and linked a ton of my essentials, new purchases, and outfits in this recent Mom’s Musings.
Jenni Kayne Sweater - This sweater is my new favorite investment staple. I swear by Jenni Kayne and decided that if I’m purchasing sweaters I want them to last years, and Jenni Kayne sweaters do. I love the V-neck with a white shirt underneath, tucked it into jeans, with an oversized denim shirt thrown over like this look.
Monochrome Fit - Another casual look I recently wore that, in my opinion, perfectly encapsulates a “winter white” vibe. Special shoutout to this J.Crew sweater that I love.

What My Family is Loving
Strider Bike - I think I’ve shared about this before, but this bike is my toddler’s absolute obsession right now. Every single night after dinner he wants to go outside and ride his bike to the park and he has gotten so confident on it!
How I’m Filling My Cup
Coffee/Matcha Dates with Friends - I have been filling my cup, literally and figuratively, with quick dates with friends. Whether it is an AM matcha at a cafe or an afternoon walk around the neighborhood, this girl time has filled me up big time.
Loved the Hilary episode! And excited to try out the virtual classes. And thank you for the Fall clothing roundup! It’s encouraging me to “get dressed” on days where I may not have normally done! Hope you have an amazing weekend with your sweet family!
I started my free month of Soto method today after listening to her episode and I was actually excited to wake up and work out this morning! Looking forward to trying all of the classes
