Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about parenting in the ‘90s. I read this article this morning and it really hit the nail on the head and got my wheels turning. I’ve always felt a sense of “belonging” and nostalgia when it came to the ‘90s (minus the lack of discussion around our emotions), but this piece reminded me so much of why I crave that decade now as a parent. We also recently went to Disney as a family, and it threw me into a vortex of time, reminding me of some of my favorite things from my own childhood, especially in the ‘90s. Sure, there are many things about Disney that feel incredibly different now than they did then (the cost, the high-tech aspect of it, the massive industry it’s become, etc), but it still brings that same unparalleled level of joy that I remember from my childhood.
