Happy Monday fam! I am coming off a family-filled weekend celebrating my older son’s 4th birthday!!! (I, too, am unsure how that is possible given that I’m 15, but I digress…). We threw his third, and our overall fourth, backyard birthday party and truly nothing brings me more joy. Seeing our backyard filled with so many members of our village - friends, family, neighbors, etc - is my ultimate moment of “I love my life”. As someone who grew up in a hosting household, I always knew I wanted to have our house be the place where people gathered and wanted to spend time, and seeing it come to fruition brings me so much freaking joy. Not only that, but it is, in my opinion, the ultimate moment of Joe and I executing in the way we intend to. I’ve talked about this a lot over the years and I actually was specifically asked about it in a corporate speaking session I did recently so it got my gears turning on the topic - I refuse, with every fiber being in my body, to fall into the “manic mom” mold of hosting.
