Even though it’s Friday it feels like a Monday to me because today is the first day of the week we’ve been home and with childcare allowing me to dive back into work, but it also feels like I’ve lived 100 lives this week because we flew with a 16 month old (if you know, you know). Thankfully, it was worth it because we had such an amazing time in the sunshine in Florida. Being in warm weather reminds me how much easier parenting is when you aren’t in the freezing cold?? Throwing kids in the stroller without 100 layers, spending as much time running around outside as they please, going on long walks, etc. it all just feels like less of a “to-do”. I turned to Joe at one point and said, “I get why people live here” (minus the politics and policies). But, as much as I love the sunshine, I’m a seasons girl and need my fair time to be bundled in jeans and a sweater or sweatsuit. So, back to the cold I went! Here’s what’s been going on this week…
Conversations with Cam -
Amanda Batula: Overcoming Depression & Summer House Confessions
In this episode, I sit down with Amanda Batula from Summer House to talk about what we can expect for this upcoming season of the show, what her experience has been as a public figure on reality television, and what it’s like watching herself onscreen. Amanda shares her journey with depression and how going on medication changed her life, creating her n…
What I’m Watching -
White Lotus - We watched episode 1 in Florida and were honestly all so let down?? Between me, Joe, my parents, our friends, and my cousin, almost every single person fell asleep. We ended up having to cut it midway through to “finish another time” (which Joe and I did last night) because we just weren’t into it. I was obviously upset to see they changed the intro song and just felt kinda “meh” about the whole cast? Hoping it turns for the better!
SNL50 - I was so pleasantly surprised by how hilarious this was and how insanely star-studded the entire production was. What I would’ve done to be a fly on the wall of that afterparty!
What I’m Reading -
Attached at Heart - I honestly didn’t remember what series this was from when I saw it auto-download on my kindle (I had preordered it after finishing the 2nd of the series awhile back), but after some digging I was reminded of how much I loved the Wildflower series by Amelie Rhys. This book followed two cardiologists and longtime best friends, Delaney and Blake, and mixes many infamous trope lines: will they / won’t they, convenience / fake marriage, “is this real or fake”, and a veryyy long build. A quick and enjoyable ready with lots of smut.
What I’m Wearing -
Amanda Batula Swim - You guys are loving this week’s pod ep with Amanda so much and I’m so excited to share that her swim drop, which we discuss in the episode, is now live to shop! I snagged the cherry tee and the red gingham suit!
Vacation Necklace - I love this necklace for a fun tropical touch to a simple outfit for a vacation look. Plus, my toddler calls it my “Moana necklace”, so there’s an additional win
.
Shopbop favorites - Until 3/3 any first time shopper on Shopbop can get 20% off your order with code NEW20. Check out my favorites here!
Week’s Round of 365 Days of Dressing for Me
What I’m Eating -
Shake Shack in the airport - I just have to say, the new United terminal at Newark airport is one of my favorite things about New Jersey. Not only is there a (germ infested) playground for kids to play in, but there is a shake shack serving up my favorite double cheeseburger on a GF bun that is my ideal pre-flight fuel.
What My Family is Loving -
Pool Time - I swear to god, my kid is an absolute fish. He spends 4 hours a day in my parent’s pool when we’re there (no joke) and demands we all “prune up”. He is also always in his “spidey” goggles.
Playing with Each Other - Lately this has been such a win for my boys as they are starting to actively play with each other. Not only does it absolutely melt my heart seeing their relationship and bond grow, but my god it is also amazing from an entertainment standpoint.
How I’m Filling My Cup -
Spending some one-on-one time with my second-born. I’ve historically beat myself up a bit because I feel like I had so much alone time with my first-born during the first two years of his life and I feel like I haven’t had that with my second (both because he’s the second and because my work has shifted and we’ve increased childcare). This past week I got a lot of quality time with him that really filled me up. I’m having so much fun with this age as his personality is really starting to shine through and I feel like I’m falling more and more in love with him every day.
Love this!!! The conversation with you and Amanda was soooooo good! The chemistry and ease of the conversation was so pure! Thank you both! Love the time you get to spend one on one with the boys! So special! Enjoy every minute! Have an amazing week! 🤍
