Filling My Cup with Exciting Work Opportunities, Adorable Disney Pjs, and Early Morning Stillness
Happy last Friday of August (for the newsletter)!! There is technically one more Friday before September starts, but I’ll be on vacation so we’re skipping FMC next week.
I intended to fill my August with fun (aka relaxing) and lowkey family time… but so many work opportunities came my way that I just couldn’t pass up. This week was packed with NYC adventures, a quick trip to Austin TX to interview Camila McConaughey for the podcast, and gearing up to submit a final draft of a super exciting work project that will come out this fall… hint: it’s something I’ve dreamt of creating for years!! Here are a few of the other ways I’ve been filling my cup…
P.s. If you’re traveling to Austin TX, I highly recommend the hotel I stayed at. It feels like Europe and it was impossible to leave.
Conversations with Cam
Solo: Showing Up As Our Authentic Selves
In this solo episode, I dive into my recent manifesting work and how it has helped shift a lot of frustration and confusion in my life. I share how I found the To Be Magnetic course, what I was hoping to get out of it, and how I’ve benefited from what I’ve learned.
Reminder that tickets are on sale for the Conversations with Cam Live Podcast event on Wednesday, 10/9 at 7:30PM at City Winery in NYC!!
What I’m Watching
Deadpool & Wolverine - I haven’t been to the movies in forever but seeing It Ends With Us in the theater inspired me to return for Deadpool & Wolverine. Joe and I hired a babysitter, left after the boys went to sleep, and had an incredible date night. I liked the movie; Ryan was funny, Hugh is aging like a fine wine, and the playlist was a millennial girl’s dream. I didn’t love the fight scenes and the Marvel jokes went over my head, but the comedy and plotline held my interest, so I’d recommend!
What I’m Reading
Yours Truly - I really enjoyed this one! Minimal spice, but a feel good love story about two doctors. This book had the most spot on depiction of anxiety… and was the first time I've read about a male character experiencing these feelings. It was comforting to read his POV because I deeply connected with parts of it.
Part of Your World - This book CONSUMED me. I didn’t know that “Yours Truly”, the book I recently finished, was part of a series so all of you recommended, “Part of Your World”... and WOW. I fell deeply in love with the characters, especially Daniel, and felt so happy reading this. It is not spicy, but a delightful beach read about a couple finding their way to each other. I also appreciate that Abby Jimenez covers serious topics. This book discusses anxiety and emotional (and some physical) abuse. It is well-written, honest, and informative with a 10/10 plot.

What I’m Loving
Sezane - I have worn this button down more than any other item the past 2 weeks. I’ve had it forever but it just became a staple. Perfect fit, structured fabric, and elevates any look!
Wedding Dress Shopping - We had so much fun wedding dress shopping for Lucy and I plan to share as much of this process as I can… so what I will say is we loved Spina Bride and Mark Ingram - both had very sweet staff and offered a lot of variety. We also went to Vera Wang, which felt a bit too stuffy to me. I’d recommend two dress appointments in a day, 3 is doable, but I would not attempt a 4th. It was such a treat watching Lucy try on so many dresses… it is also hard because she looks good in every single one. Stay tuned for more on this journey!
What My Family is Loving
Baby Gap Disney Collection (ON SALE!!) - I went to a little crazy on GAP Factory for my Disney obsessed toddler but boy was he excited!! He was so thrilled to put on his Buzz Space Ranger Suit… that doubles as sleepwear. Gap Factory is our favorite place to get toddler pjs right now!
How I’m Filling My Cup
Early morning stillness - I’ve been waking up around 5/5:15am, meditating, and reading in the morning and loving it. I usually workout during this time, but my body has been craving stillness on the couch (with my coffee and book) and I am here for it. Knowing I’m the only one up and not needed in that moment is so incredibly freeing.
Hope you have a wonderful vacation with your family! Enjoy every moment! Thank
You for the book recs. I have added them to my list!
I can’t wait for Jude to get into Disney movies 🥹 right now it’s allllll about Elmo, which is pretty fun too
