To All the "Besties" That Could've Been
When I see you I get that feeling in my belly mixed of hope for what we could be, sorrow for what we didn’t become, acceptance for what we are, and love for you as a person.
Before we dive into this week’s Mom Musings, I want to share an exciting announcement that I am partnering with Alexa Leigh on a piece for this Mother’s Day! The Eternal Bond necklace is inspired by a mother and child's eternal bond: a profound and unbreakable connection that is a testament to the power of love and nurture. The design of two circles (one large and one smaller) intertwined is meant to depict this connection. Together, forever.
As a subscriber, you are getting early access to shop the necklace before we release to the public tomorrow! There is a limited stock available, so if you are interested in purchasing for your own mother or yourself as a mom, I would recommend acting quickly! 10% of the proceeds will be donated to birthFUND, an organization that advocates for and invests in midwifery care and the inclusion of birth workers in the birth experience
Now, on to my musings…
I’ve been thinking about this concept a lot lately. I am such a proponent of female friendships and feel they have truly been the backbone of my life. From friends that I made as a little kid in elementary school, to friendships from my travel lacrosse/soccer days, to college friends, to “real world” friends from city connections, to my latest and newest neighborhood friends. They have truly always been there for me and people who I will forever be grateful for. I have always prided myself on being a loyal, honest, supportive, and loving friend who puts in efforts to show up for the people I love. If you’re in my inner circle, you are in. I will do anything in my power to be there for you and protect you. That being said, after becoming a mom priorities shift, free time massively decreases, and life takes on a whole new agenda. Suddenly your days are filled with focusing on tiny little humans, your free time is thrown out the window, and your nights and weekends are spent, for the most part, entertaining them.
