Filling My Cup with a Trip to the White House, Camila's Calm Energy, and Hoda & Jenna
We've had a big week and we're making the most of it!!
I’m currently heading home from an amazing trip in DC and have a lot to cover with you all. Yesterday, I had the honor of touring the White House with March Fourth - a nonpartisan grassroots org focused on reinstating the federal ban on assault weapons. When this ban was in place, America saw a 70% decrease in mass shooting fatalities, so we know it works. We don’t need to live like this. The ban existed for ten years and saved lives. Once it expired, mass shootings skyrocketed. We just want that law back. It is that simple.
We are currently supporting a new bill, the GOSAFE Act, which is a pragmatic approach to protecting American lives and the second amendment at the same time. We are working on garnering bipartisan support and need your help!! Please reach out to your senators and ask them to cosponsor the GOSAFE Act (you can find your senator’s info and a sample script here)!

What I’m Watching
Not Mothers Instinct - I should’ve done my research before I started this one, but I thought “oh let me throw on this movie while I organize the boy’s clothes” and that a mistake. I said no F’ing way and turned it off after 5 minutes. If you are a mother with intrusive thoughts… do not watch this!!! I don’t know if any mom can watch this?? If you somehow made it through the movie, let us know your thoughts.
Tell Me Lies - Season 2 just released and I’m really enjoying it thus far! I’m not fully caught up (only 1.5 episodes in), but it has drawn me in just like the 1st season did. Per usual, Stephen is a controlling asshole.
Today with Hoda & Jenna - Because we made it on TV baby!!!! Still freaking out over this. I know I will be in that studio one day (manifesting is in motion)!!!

What I’m Reading
The Matchmaker - To be honest, I really disliked this book and wish I had DNFd it. It’s a (very sad) love story about a middle aged woman on Nantucket, and her relationship with her husband, daughter, and former boyfriend (who is the father of her child). The first 80% I didn’t feel connected to the characters and truthfully kind of disliked the main character… and the whole “seeing a different color aura” in people when they’re in relationships lost me. I’m all for mystical books but if we’re doing realistic fiction then I want it to be realistic. The last 20% was just straight up sad. If I felt connected to the characters, I would’ve been a wreck but it just made me sad and had me ready to read another book. PERSONALLY, I wouldn’t recommend (but I know a lot of you loved it).
What I’m Loving
Coat - it’s officially transition season and I am loving this trench coat. It’s the perfect oversized fit while still looking put together and I love the plaid detailing on the inside.
Calpak Suitcase - I used an away suitcase (like everyone else) for years but I actually hated it… so I converted to this suitcase a year ago. I am reminded of how much I love it every time I travel. Smooth wheels PLUS an extendable zipper so you can fit so much in it.
Linen Suit (top & bottom) - I wore this suit to the White House and I loved it. Shopbop lent it to me but I might need to buy it for keeps.
Flamingo Razor - If you saw my stories this week, you know the backstory behind this… Joe just got me a razor (thanks to his extensive google search for “the best women’s razor” and a very considerate gift / act of service). I’m obsessed with it and his search was successful, it rules!!
What My Family is Loving
Magnetile Castles - My mom sent me a TikTok of a woman doing this for her kids and I knew it would be a hit in our household. You just put a piece of paper on the fridge, trace the magnetiles, remove the tiles, and let your kid fill in the “puzzle”. This buys me some quiet time and the boys love it! I linked everything you need here.
How I’m Filling My Cup
I covered this in Mom Musings this week, but my recent date night with Joe really filled my cup. We had a couple hours of childcare and walked to one of our favorite restaurants, had a delicious dinner (and gelato), then walked home. I’m working on re-prioritizing fun with my husband and this was an amazing step in that direction… We also laughed a lot (thanks to The High Confectionary - code CAM20).
Cute! Loved this one!!!
