Filling My Cup Week of 6/14/2024
Lots of podcast coverage, plenty of clothing recs (thank you Lucy!!), a few of my favorite things, and an upcoming live event!!
Happy Friday! We are headed to the beach for an extended trip and I cannot freaking wait. Our toddler is out of school so we are off to experience some family fun, plenty of sunshine, and extra helping hands. Since its Father’s Day Weekend, we’re having our my in-laws and my friends come down with their kids to celebrate. I’m a tad stressed because the day we come back I’m hopping on a plane to LA for 48 hours (for some exciting interviews!) but looking forward to be a very fun-filled trip!!
I have a lot to share this week, so please bear with me through a couple housekeeping items…
Tickets for the Conversations with Cam live podcast event are available!!! The show will be on Thursday 6/27 from 6-8PM at Peoplehood (109 W 17th St, New York, NY)!!! It will be a panel discussion focused on maternal mental health with Simmone Taitt, the Founder of Poppy Seed Health, Melissa Fairhurst, a pregnancy and postpartum therapist, Emily Didonato, my close friend and a fellow mom of two, and Ebonie Tudor, my doula.
We will learn, laugh, (maybe cry???), and provide plenty of time for Q&As and networking with the audience. Plus, loaded swag bags with products from some of my favorite brands!!!! I would love to see you all there!!!!
Speaking of the podcast, we are changing up on how we highlight the show on Substack. Moving forward, the show description and listening links (Apple, Spotify, YouTube) will be shared as a post on Substack on episode release days (Wednesday). The post will not be sent to your inbox but you can find them under the Podcast tab and they’ll be linked in the Fill Your Cup newsletter at the end of the week.
Now let’s jump into our usual topics…
What I’m Watching
Color Analysis - I was mesmerized by Julia doing my color analysis and I have continuously referenced / rewatched this video while shopping and getting dressed. I’m fascinated by how this works and such a believer!!
What You All are Loving
Division of Labor Discussion - Who knew the men would get SO angry about my discussion with Eve Rodsky (I guess I should’ve known?). Some men have been extremely triggered by this conversation and it honestly reinvigorated my desire to keep talking about it! Clearly, not every guy is onboard for division of labor, so we need to keep shouting it from the rooftops. SO many of you have told me how much you loved this episode and how helpful it was, so I’m resharing in case you missed it!
What I’m Loving
Biodance Face Masks - I’ve been seeing these overnight collagen face masks everywhere so I finally bit the bullet and decided to try them. I told a friend that they’re good but I don’t notice a huge difference… then I took a selfie the next morning and my GOD my skin was glowing.
Silk Bonnet - I added this silk bonnet to my nighttime routine because I am still struggling with postpartum hair shedding and I’m hoping this will reduce hear breakage and improve my overall hair health!
KOS Protein Powder - I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned my love for this product yet but I’ve been making a protein smoothie for breakfast every. single. morning. (no joke every morning) and love this protein powder.
What Lucy is Loving
What My Family is Loving
Poop Chair - It turns out we are all just living parallel lives because apparently we all call this Babybjorn bouncer the “poop chair”… If our baby is in this chair, there’s a 99% chance that someone is pooping (me or him). Can’t recommend it enough for anyone with a baby!
Toddler Bathing Suits - Our toddler starts camp soon which means he will be in swimsuits a LOT. Recently found these and love the fit and all the styles so we ordered!
How I’m Filling my Cup
Education - I’ve been trying to lean into learning because I really miss it and our recent Expert Chat was just the thing I needed. I was not prepared to be so moved by this virtual session but I (and many of you in my DMs) left feeling more ready, willing, and able. Parenthood can be terrifying. As someone with intrusive thoughts, I am often thinking of the worst case scenario and worrying I will freeze (especially when it comes to CPR). This week’s Expert Chat with Jamie O’Day from NAPS was a 1.5 hour infant and child CPR course that I strongly recommend for ALL parents. It was so informative and really engrained the information into my brain. To everyone who joined and vulnerably shared, thank you!!!!
Soooo bummed I can’t make the live show… but omg, can’t wait to listen to the pod episode when it comes out!!
Hope you have the best trip and can’t wait for the LA interviews to be released! 🩵
