Filling My Cup Week of 4/26/24
New merch, lots of listening recs (including TTPD), and a very full cup!
Intro - Happy Friday to my favorite people! As a reminder, on Fridays all subscribers (paid or not) will receive Filling My Cup on the Substack. This is replacing the previous newsletter and will look very similar. It will cover what I’m loving, reading, watching, wearing, and how I’m “filling my cup” that week.
What I’m Wearing
Fill Your Cup Merch - We are back baby!!!!! Everyone’s favorite set from our previous drop is back and available for purchase. I say it all the time because it's imperative: you must fill your cup! This royal blue set is so comfortable and the most gorgeous color. Perfect for a summer sweatset… and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Jed Foundation!!
What I’m Reading
Nora Goes Off Script - Nora, a writer of romance movies, turns her divorce into a movie script that gets picked up as a big time Hollywood production shot in her backyard. While shooting the film, she develops a friendship turned romance with the lead star, Leo. I am kind of shocked by how much I loved this book. Yes, it is such an obvious storyline / expected ending, but it had me hooked. It wasn’t my typical smut style novel (0 spice), but it got me attached to the main character and excited for her to find her happy ending. One part that threw a wrench in their stories was a tad unrealistic, but I still loved it. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something quick and easy!
What I’m Listening to
Patrick Gagne on Armchair Expert - I haven’t listened to Armchair Expert a lot recently, but my sister told me this episode was wild. I am, and always have been, super interested in people who are so open with their mental health and this one provided an inside look I had never seen before… into what it would be like to be a diagnosed sociopath. What is most fascinating about this woman, Patrick, is that not only is she a diagnosed sociopath but she is also a psychologist. She is very knowledgeable on the topic and incredibly open about her experiences. If you have the time, I highly recommend it!
The Tortured Poets Department - I did a whole TikTok on this, but I have a lot of thoughts on any Taylor album. First, she is a lyrical genius. Her ability to intertwine story lines, times of her life, and “Easter Eggs”, is mind-blowing. I can’t imagine having the ability to do something like this. Second, I really struggle with auditory processing. Even with the lyrics in front of me, I need to play a song multiple times. Third, I am jealous of the ride or die Swifties because I wonder what it would be like to feel that passionately about something. My favorites so far are: Down Bad (“now I’m down bad crying at the gym” turning into a bop is hilarious), Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me (I want my 8 year old self to scream this), I Can do it with a Broken Heart (“I cry a lot but I am so productive” is a mother anthem) and So High School (because the Travis/Taylor pipeline is BookTok IRL).
What I’m Watching
TikTok - I can’t stop thinking about this clip from a news segment discussing the idea that women can “have it all”. Lilly Allen candidly said that her kids ruined her career. She wasn’t saying it with malintent, just stating a fact… and a lot of people who spread the “we can do it all!!!” message were pissed. The news anchor in the clip reiterates that, sometimes, that messaging can lead to anger because (IMO), it's not the reality. I especially love when she says “I wish she didn’t feel compelled to add ‘but I love my kids’ because it's okay for women to share hard truths.” THIS! Is this something I should dive into on Mom Musings?
What I’m Loving
Brooklinen luxe sateen sheets - I’ve been a Brooklinen fan for years now and I swear by their sheets. We love the heathered cashmere sheets for the colder months, but as soon as it gets warm out we swap them for the luxe sateen to provide that crisp buttery smooth sheet feeling after a warm day. To celebrate Brooklinen’s 10th birthday their ENTIRE site is 25% off and bundles are 45% off! This is their biggest sale ever, so don’t miss out!!
Golf outfit - I’m trying to get into my *golf* era and find some hobbies for myself that, specifically, include me being outdoors. Part of this means making sure I have an appropriate wardrobe that not only is comfortable to golf in but that also looks cute and gets me excited to go play! I am loving this fit from the other week. You can use code CAMERON for a discount on Rhoback products!
Hosting table setting - I am so freaking proud of the table I put together for my friend’s baby shower. As a first time table ‘designer’(?), I now understand why people love to set a table! I’ve never seen my mother so proud of me.
What My Family is Loving
Skout Organic - We are big fans of Skout. For any toddler parents looking for bars to stash in every nook & cranny, pocket, or bag, these are perfect. Made with limited ingredients and tons of delicious flavors. Plus, there are some nut-free ones that are great for his allergen-friendly classroom. Code FRECKLEDFOODIE!
How I’m Filling my Cup
Hosting and showing up for my friends!! My longtime best friend, and infamous “Pedialyte bridesmaid” (if you’ve been here for a while you know what I’m talking about), is pregnant with her first child so I cohosted her shower this past weekend! I love hosting in my home and offering a place for people to gather… but doing this for someone I love so much and for such a big moment in her life meant the world to me. It filled my cup BIG time!!!
I invite you all to leave a comment and share what you’ve been loving and how you’re filling your cup!! I love getting new ideas from all of you!

I’d love for you to dig into that we can’t do it all yet we feel like we have to! My kids (2 and 6 months ) did ruin my career… I don’t care like I used to. My focus isn’t on the climb but more on not missing all the moments my mom missed. I still work 40 hours a week but at home with a nanny so I can step away or peek into their rooms.
